Invictus Education Trust Chief Executive Officer

Where we differ from other multi academy trusts is our intention to collaborate, in every way.

This starts with the ‘Invictus Culture’ which has seen all of our schools, and Sixth Form, adopt a shared vision, mission and set of values.

Invictus Vision

Our communities will have access to an outstanding education. Our schools and 6th form cater for the social, economic and cultural diversity that our country is comprised of and deliver opportunities and experiences that celebrate that diversity. We are to be locally based, but nationally important.

Invictus Mission

We exist to provide our schools with the resources to offer independent minded education to their communities.  Our academic focus is on progress. We achieve this with exceptional teaching delivered by outstanding teachers, who are supported by an outstanding team. We provide our students with unique opportunities and elite experiences allowing them to thrive in whatever they pursue.

Invictus Values

Value One – Every day, in every way, our students come first

Our first and most important value.

Value Two – Anything is possible

We focus on the challenge to identify it, our energy is spent finding a solution.

Value Three – Accountability

If it is to be, it is to be me.

Value Four – Seek and seize opportunities

We aim to deliver ‘WOW’ through opportunities and experiences.

Value Five – Focus on relationships and all else will follow

Open, honest and empathic relationships with clear and simple communication are the foundations of our Trust.

Value Six – Start with the end in mind

We identify our aspiration and put processes in place to exceed expectations. We celebrate our progress throughout the journey.

Value Seven – Think Collaboratively

We always ask ourselves; can we include more students, more of our team or more of our schools in everything we do?

See our culture brought to life with the film below

Welcome to your Virtual Tour & Induction

Mr Lopez

Either dive in to the tabs below to find out more about each area of the school, or if you are a little unsure, watch the video directly above to familiarise yourself with lay out of the induction and tour!

We take great pride in the production level of all media we send out to our communities. We believe in delivering the very best for our parents, carers and students, but we hope you appreciate, during this unprecedented time most of our team’s introduction films have been made on ‘selfie’ mode in their own homes! We believe the content of each video is of a much higher value than risking our team’s well being to create more professional films, we hope you do too!

Welcome to the SEND  – Mrs Durrant

Welcome to the SEND department at Pedmore High School. We thought it would be useful to introduce the department and the people who may be working with you over the coming years. There is a range of experience within the department which is further supported by our close working relationships with outside agencies. Some of these include:

Autism Outreach (AO)

The Physical Impairment, Medical Inclusion Service (PIMIS)

The Speech and Language Therapy Service (SALT)

The Visual Impairment Service (VI)

The Hearing Impairment Service (HI)

Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS)

Education Psychology (EP)

Occupational Therapy (OT)

Teaching staff work alongside outside agencies to ensure students continue to receive adequate support. Outside Agencies may come in to school to meet and/or observe students in class to provide reports where appropriate. Parents/carers will be informed of any appointments made in school and regular meetings held to ensure all parties are kept updated with events and outcomes.

The Hub – The Hub is located in the Science Block in S6/7 and is open to a limited number of students who require access to a quieter space during lunchtime. Students can benefit from the use of computers, soft seating, board games, music, drawing or completing homework tasks. Alternatively, some students simply want a place to sit and chat quietly to their friends/staff whilst they eat their lunch. We are strict on numbers as the purpose of The Hub is to provide a quiet/peaceful environment and have to be mindful of others’ needs.

Mrs A Durrant – SENDCo

I have worked at Pedmore High School for just over 11 years; it’s a fabulous school to work at with a dedicated and caring team of staff. I am responsible for ensuring students with SEND are catered for and to ensure any support required is delivered appropriately. Sometimes, this is delivered in small groups, 1:1 or through external agencies but will vary depending on the needs of the child. As a department, we also assist with exam arrangements from Year 9 onwards for those who may benefit from Extra Time/Scribe/Reader.

I am also a mother of 2 young daughters who keep me very busy; along with our very energetic dog who needs lots of love and LOTS of exercise. In my spare time I enjoy reading, cooking going to the cinema, discovering National Trust sites and going on long country walks with my family.

Mrs S Jordan – Lead Teaching Assistant

I have worked at Pedmore High School for just over 11 years now and enjoy being part of a dedicated team with experienced staff who are more than happy to help cater for students learning needs.  I mainly work supporting students in the classroom but also work with small groups of students and 1:1 sessions, this also involves working with external agencies to support children’s individual needs.  I am qualified to be a reader/scribe to support children whether it is in the classroom or during exams.

I am also a mother of a teenage son; I enjoy walking my dog, running, painting, playing golf, camping with my family and swimming.

Mr P Fenn- Teaching Assistant

For the past 14 years I have been a Teaching Assistant at Pedmore High School. During my time at Pedmore I have supported lots of students with a wide variety of individual needs such as ADHD, Dyslexia, Autism, Dyscalculia, Dyspraxia and ODD. Covering Year 7 to Year 11 and with experience in all subjects, you will find me supporting students in the classroom as well as one-to-one and in small groups. I help organise the testing of reading and mathematics skills across the whole of Year 7 when students start with us. This helps us as a school get a better understanding of pupil’s personal skills and how we can make learning individual to each student. I also have reader/scribe training so I will be there to support students through assessments and exams to make sure they achieve their full potential.

I am a father of four with age ranges from 26-37 who have all studied at Pedmore High School, so I have a lot experience with the school and its community! I’m a grandfather of 6 and a dog lover who enjoys walking, doing quizzes and you will always find me with a good book.

Mrs T Morris – Teaching Assistant

I have been a Teaching Assistant at Pedmore High School for the past 14 years, working with pupils from years 7-11 either within a classroom environment, in small groups, one to one sessions and sometimes weather permitting in the school garden. I use ‘Catch Up’ reading to address literacy difficulties, ‘Language for Learning’ to support pupils with Speech, Language and Communication needs and Social Stories to address social and emotional issues. I am an advocate for encouraging multisensory learning to develop understanding and skills to reach the fullest potential of each pupil, whilst encouraging responsibility and independence. I also have reader/scribe training to support pupils with assessments and exams.

I have three grown up children who have all flown the nest. I enjoy visiting art exhibitions, going to the theatre, cooking, reading and in my spare time I make jewellery.

Miss S Preston

I started my career at Pedmore High School in September 2019 and in just a few months I have formed great relationships with our students and staff. I have worked closely with some of our year 7 pupils, supporting them in the classroom setting and in small group intervention sessions. I also offer additional pastoral support and help assist heads of year for KS3.
My passion is to support our pupils and help them reach their full potential. I have supported pupils with a range of individual needs and abilities including Autism, ADHD, Aspergers, Dyslexia and Physical impairments.
I am a mother to a very energetic 2-year-old who likes to keep me on my toes! We enjoy long walks and spending time with our family.
Pedmore has been such a great place to work and I look forward to making many more happy memories here!

Mrs C Preston

I have worked at Pedmore for the last 5 years supporting a visual impaired student. All the way through years 7 to 11.

It has been my role to make sure that this pupil  ( and other VI pupils in the school )had all necessary equipment to access the whole curriculum. Weather this was specialised equipment in the cookery room and the science lab, to ensuring he had large print and state of the art electrical gadgets.

During my time here, I have organised a after school Goalball club for not only the V I pupils but for anyone who wanted to join in. I did arrange for the Head Coach of the GB Olympic Goalball Squad to come into school and show us how it is done.

I have completed many courses to enhance my knowledge of supporting VI students and I have completed my level 1 and 2 in Braille.

I have a close working relationship with the Visually Impaired Services.

I am a mum of 4 grown up children and a nanny to 3 boys. I enjoy walking my 2 German shepherds and exploring the UK in my touring caravan.
