Need To Talk?
Pedmore High School provides a range of systems and services in school to help any student who has a problem or issue that needs to be resolved. We have a Meet and Greet service, whereby all pupils on entry are seen by pastoral staff, supporting pupils with a warm welcome, as well as sorting out any issues relating to uniform.
Pupils then have a thirty minute morning tutor session, enabling tutors to ensure the tutees are ready for the day ahead, including checking that pupils have the correct equipment and are ready for learning.
We have six Heads of Year, including a Senior Mental Health Lead and a Behaviour and Attendance Lead. These pastoral leaders will support pupils who have any concerns or issues that need to be addressed.
We also offer a system called ‘Teacher Support’ which enables teachers to call for support if a pupil has a concern that needs a swift response. We have three Pastoral Support Officers who can get into lessons and support pupils when necessary.
When needed, staff may refer pupils for support with other agencies such as School Nurse, Reflections and other recognised services.
