Black Country Young Enterprise Competition

Pedmore Young Enterprise students continue to impress!

On Saturday 4th December, a team of Year 10 and 11 Young Enterprise students from Pedmore High School maintained their title and won the first phase in the annual 'Black Country Young Enterprise competition'. Ten teams of students from across the Black Country had their own pop-up stands at the Ryemarket Shopping Centre Stourbridge, where they sold their hand made products to the community.

Young Enterprise is a nationally established competition where students across the country form a business and present goods for sale in a bid to raise funds for their final business proposal. Leading up to Saturday, students worked throughout lunchtimes and after school manufacturing festive goods for sale.

Aaron Powell, the Ryemarket Manager said, “I am so impressed with all the schools who participated in the competition on Saturday and especially Kate Hunter from Pedmore High School, who organised the event. All of the stalls and sales pitches were amazing, but our mystery shoppers said Pedmore High School was clearly the winner!”

Students were supported by staff, families and even Suzanne Webb MP. The second phase of the competition will be held in the Ryemarket on Saturday 12th March 2022. So make sure to head down and show your support.
